The private Boeing 787 Dreamliner makes First Class look like Southwest Airlines.
The Dreamliner B787 Dreamjet is the world’s largest and most luxurious private jet — and now the owner has opened up its doors for the Dubai Air Show.
A video tour of the huge aircraft, dubbed “the flying penthouse” shows an entertainment and study lounge, dedicated dining spaces, an en-suite master bedroom with a 42-inch TV, a dressing room and an enormous hotel-style bathroom complete with a shower.
The plane is a remodeled Boeing 787 Dreamliner which is a commercial aircraft that carries between 240 and 335 passengers.
But this one has been transformed into a 40-passenger private jet and is so well-equipped it resembles a flying hotel.
The aircraft is worth $300 million, but it can be chartered by members of the public – although it doesn’t come cheap.
The aircraft can be chartered for around $25,000 per hour.
And for the lucky few who are invited to step onboard, the in-flight experience is air-miles away from that offered on a typical Boeing flight.
The interior, co-developed by yacht and aircraft design specialists Pierrejean Design, has been fitting with high domed ceilings, hardwood floors, sculptured hardwood doors and hand-crafted carpets.
Passengers can control the lighting, TV screens, window blinds and request attention from the flight attendants using tablet computers.
The main lounge can fit up to 16 guests very comfortably at a time, with sofas and two dining tables. In the center is a bed-type sofa that separates into two sofas at the touch of a button.
For those wanting a real rest though, there is a master bedroom with a hidden TV.
For the other travelers, there are 18 full flat seats, like those you get in many Business Class cabins, at the rear of the plane along with six seats that are the equivalent of Premium Economy seats.
