KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT, July 27, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Maritime leaders from across the Middle East and beyond will gather at the Offshore Patrol Vessels Middle East conference from 9-11 October in Kuwait to discuss the future of maritime security in the region.

The situation unfolding within the GCC highlights the significance of regional cooperation and its influence on maritime rule and security. The first NATO centre in the region was opened in Kuwait earlier this year to help foster that cooperation and OPV Middle East conference aims to help with its mission.

With the support of the Kuwait Naval Force and the Kuwait Ministry of Defence, this event will provide a forum for regional navies to deliberate the emerging trends within the region’s maritime security, discuss the key advancements within the OPV market, as well as share upcoming requirements to advance their maritime capabilities.

The first conference day on 9 October will see an opening keynote speech from Major General Khaled A. Abdullah, Commander and Chief, Kuwait Naval Force.

The 3-day event will also feature a dinner and a post-conference focus day on International Law of the Sea and Coastal and Maritime Surveillance, to help maritime authorities with a better understanding of the rules of engagement in a maritime context and the keys to enhance effective coastal and maritime surveillance capabilities.
