Expanding Brunei’s digital payment capabilities

Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd (DST) is taking a significant step in enhancing digital transactions for Bruneians by integrating MyDST Wallet with ‘tarus’, Brunei’s first instant payment system. Operated by National Digital Payments Network Sdn Bhd (ndpx), tarus facilitates fast, seamless and secure fund transfers between participating banks and e-wallets.

This collaboration empowers MyDST users to connect their wallets to tarus using their mobile numbers, unlocking instant money transfers across different platforms. Whether splitting a bill, paying for purchases or sending money to family and friends, users can now experience a more streamlined and interconnected payment ecosystem. Beyond this initial introduction, DST is committed to further enhancing MyDST Wallet’s capabilities.

Future updates will introduce QR code-based payments under Brunei’s National QR Code Standard for Payments, ensuring interoperability across multiple financial service providers.

This will enable MyDST Wallet users to make QR transactions at any participating merchants, fostering wider digital payment adoption in Brunei.

As Brunei advances towards a cashless future in line with Brunei Vision 2035 and the Digital Economy Masterplan 2025, DST remains dedicated to supporting the nation’s digital transformation.
