KUWAIT: Kuwait’s national trap team won the silver medal of the mixed teams shooting competition at the conclusion of the HH the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Annual International Shooting Grand Prix, which concluded on Friday and witnessed the participation of about 220 shooters from 18 Arab and foreign countries and lasted for 7 days.
Kuwait shooters Nasser Al-Muqled and Sarah Al-Hawal managed to win silver in the competition, which took place at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Ranges at the Kuwait Shooting Sport Club, the organizer of the tournament, after they came in second place following strong competition to raise the balance of the Kuwaiti team in the tournament to four medals (one gold and three silver).
The Turkish national team won the gold medal after its shooters lnam Yavuz and Rumeysa Kaya won the first place, while the Moroccan and Italian teams shared the bronze medal at third place, as Morocco was represented by Younes El Haj Ali and Fatima Zahrae Fadil and the Italian team Fabio Sollami and Fiammetta Rossi.

After awarding the winners, representative of His Highness the Amir, Governor of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Sheikh Sabah Badr Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, expressed his honor and pride in attending the opening, closing and awarding ceremonies of the winners of the competitions of the HH the Amir Grand Prix, which was characterized by the wide participation of the most prominent shooters of the world.
The Governor of Mubarak Al-Kabeer praised the distinguished organization by the organizing committee represented by its Chairman, Engineer Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi, and the rest of the committee members for all the events of the GP and their tireless work to develop the Kuwait shooting sport, congratulating all the winning shooters in the competitions of this international sports gathering for the sport of shooting.
For his part, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi, on behalf of himself, members of the committee and all workers and volunteers, extended all thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his high paternal support for the sport of Kuwait shooting by allocating a major annual international tournament that has become internationally accredited.
In his speech at the closing ceremony, Al-Otaibi thanked His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for his generous support of Kuwait shooting sport, as well as His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the government and representative of HH the Amir for their great support of Kuwait shooting, which contributed to its development in various fields. He thanked for the continuous success of the tournament through its successive editions, the International Shooting Federation adopted the HH The Amir International Grand Prix within its agenda, as the tournament enjoys the participation of elite world champions, praising the distinguished and successful relations between the Kuwait Shooting Federation and the International Federation, which was embodied by the presence of the Secretary General of the Italian Federation, Alessandro Giacomo, at the opening ceremony.
He praised the outstanding results of the Kuwaiti shooters in the tournament and their competition with the champions of the game, which confirms their excellence and high status in the international arena, thanking the teams participating in the tournament and the Public Authority for Sports and all relevant state authorities, which resulted in the great success of the tournament.
