Jerry Jones says wife Gene cried after Mavericks’ shocking trade of Luka Doncic

Jerry and Gene Jones apparently joined the rest of Dallas in mourning after the Mavs’ heavily-scrutinized move.

Jerry Jones has perhaps never seemed more relatable among Dallas sports fans.

In a news conference to discuss the Cowboys’ upcoming selections in the 2025 NFL draft, Jerry Jones was asked about the current calamity the Dallas Mavericks find themselves in after trading away star player Luka Doncic.

Doncic, a “personal friend” according to Jones, is still leading the Lakers in the NBA playoffs, while the Mavericks have already been sent on vacation for the summer.

Jones admits he was a fan of Luka, but Jerry says his wife, Gene, took the trade particularly hard.
