Georgia: The leader of Georgian women’s judo team Eter Liparteliani (57 kg) won a silver medal at the European Championship. She has been a professional Georgian judoka since 2016.
During the championship, Ether Liparteliani, the winner of two bronze medals of the European Championships, entered the competition from the eighth final. Nino Loladze was in the same weight, but he was eliminated from the championship at an early stage.
Yukoti defeated Daria Kurbonmadova, a representative of neutral country, won a pure victory against Swiss Binta Ndiaye, Yukoti defeated Israeli Timna Nelson Levy and got the right to go to the final, but unfortunately, lost to German Soya Balkhaus with Vazar and went to the second stage of Kvartschlbek.
Furthermore, the most experienced member of the Georgian national team, Lasha Shavdatuashvili (73 kg) who is also the winner of all three Olympic games medals, was one step short of the bronze medal in the match with the French Joan-Benjamin Gaba to reach the golden point. The match which lasted more than 10 minutes, ended with Joan-Benjamin Gaba winning.

Eter Liparteliani is the niece of Soso Liparteliani, judoka and Georgia’s first Olympic medallist. Born in September in 1999 in Lentekhi, Georgia, she has trained to be a professional judoka under her father’s guidance from a young age.
Liparteliani is a two-time Olympian champion and has competed in the women’s 57 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics, and the women’s 57 kg and mixed team event at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Liparteliani is also a bronze medalist in the World Championship and three-time European champion. In 2023, Liparteliani became a champion at the European Championships and European Games in the mixed team events, winning the 57 kg category.
