Newcastle woman accused of threatening to 'blow-up' Probation Service facing trial
Tammy Armstrong is alleged to have sent abusive emails and texts saying she would also punch her probation worker's face in
A woman has appeared in court accused of threatening to "blow-up" the Probation Service. Tammy Armstrong is alleged to have sent abusive emails and texts saying she would also punch a probation officer's face in.
The 36-year-old was suspected of sending the messages in February this year. Armstrong, of Elswick Road, in Elswick, was in the dock in custody at Newcastle Magistrates' Court this week to face two malicious communication offences. She pleaded not guilty to both.
Glenda Beck, prosecuting, said: "The person to whom the texts and emails were directed towards were a probation officer. In one of the messages there was an allegation of a threat to blow the Probation Service clean up. She also said she would punch [the officer's] face in.
"There is a further allegation that she sent an email, which said she would "slice Probation clean up and punch [the officer's] face in". She is also alleged to have said "I will not be held accountable for my actions"."
Armstrong, who lives in Newcastle, had her case listed for trial at North Shields Magistrates' Court. She said: "So, I have to North Shields to go to court? Can I take my dog with me?"
Armstrong was released on conditional bail to next appear at North Shields Magistrates' Court on October 9.
