FCX Systems Awarded Ground Power Supply Contract for Royal Australian Air Force

MORGANTOWN , WEST VIRGINIA , UNITED STATES , February 16, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- FCX Systems–the world’s leading manufacturer of solid-state frequency converters and ground power support (GSE)–has been awarded the contract to supply 54 270VDC precision ground power units for the Royal Australian Air Force’s main F-35 base at RAAF Williamtown for the New Air Combat Capability project. The units will be manufactured in Morgantown, W.Va. at FCX headquarters.

This is the second contract awarded to FCX to supply the RAAF with 270VDC ground power units for the F-35 aircraft.

“It is a great honor to be supplying our equipment to one of America’s greatest allies–Australia,” said Jason Summers, Vice President of Business Development. “It is of the utmost importance to the entire FCX family that the U.S. and its allies have the best possible equipment available for all daily operations.”

The 54 units include 270VDC output cables and cable reels, along with design and engineering support assistance for the successful implementation of the system. FCX factory trained technicians will provide on-site support for the commissioning and field-testing of the units.

“The specifications of the contract fit well with FCX Systems’ capabilities,” said Craig Walker, President and Chief Executive Officer for FCX Systems, Inc. “Our extensive experience in 270VDC applications, including supply of 270VDC ground power to all F-35 final assembly stations for Lockheed Martin, was integral in meeting the requirements of the contract.”

FCX also provides international 270VDC ground power support in the United Kingdom, Italy, and Japan.

Founded in 1987, FCX designs and manufacturers solid-state frequency converters and ground power support for aviation, commercial, military and shore industries around the world. Today, FCX employs 70 personnel and has placed units throughout the U.S. and in more than 70 countries on all seven continents.
